1963 Flagon of Rum Raffle

SKU 070 Category

Description

This flagon was blended and bottled at the Royal Elizabeth Yard just outside Edinburgh and bottled March 1963 – 7 years pre-Black Tot Day. A fantastic piece of Naval history, part of a long British Naval tradition dating back to 1655, whereby sailors were afforded a daily ration. On 31 Jul 70, known as Black Tot Day, the tradition was consigned to the history books and the ration suspended. Thankfully, small amounts have survived the decades such as this one-gallon stone flagon valued at over £3500, giving you the chance to own a small part of this tradition that has shaped the way many rums are made and enjoyed to this day.

Happy to accept overseas buyers, however, if you win the Flagon then postage over and above that expected to the UK must be paid and the item is posted at your risk.

You must be 18 or over to take part in the raffle.

Tickets are £5.00 each via the link below and the draw will take place 21 Sep.
