Loch Lomond Challenge
On Saturday 3rd June 2023 Military vs Cancer hosted the Loch Lomond Challenge. The challenge was canoeing on Loch Lomond, walking part of the West Highland Way or a mixture of both.
Over 70 Military Personnel, Veterans and Civilians took part and raised surplus of £20,000 as well as raising awareness for Military vs Cancer.
The event was a great success, with the teams leaving our base at Centre 81 in Garelochhead fully fuelled for the day after a hearty breakfast provided by our main sponsor Be11a JS. The gruelling walk was completed in 11 hours and was led by mountain leaders John, Nicola and Phil.
The paddle and split participants completed their challenge within a 10-hour timeframe, which was led by Grant, Andy, Tom and Kenny in the canoes along with Neil, Dean, Jamie and Claire in the support Rhibs.
The challenge would not have been a success without the guys who drove the support vehicles to get the participants along with the essential food and water to the correct rendezvous points on time, led by Military vs Cancer’s Dizzy along with Rory, Martin and John.
We doubled the personnel from last years challenge. Keep your eyes on Military vs Cancer social media for information on 2024’s challenge so we can make this an even bigger success. Lastly a big shout out and heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated.
